7-eleven, Muay Thai Fighting, Temples, ruins, jungles, street food, Tuk Tuk’s, taxi's, grab cars, trains, bicycles, hiking, sweating so much in the daytime (that's why its a night time country), scooters, island hopping, longtail boats, fast speedboats, longtail boats, etc. These are some of the crazy highlights of traveling around Thailand for a month.
Thailand is known as the Land of Smiles, and its crazy that it is that! You will see smiley emoji icons and smiley stuff everywhere. Everywhere you go around Thailand, everyone is super happy and friendly! They are the nicest people ever!

My boyfriend and I spent a month (30 days to be exact) traveling around Thailand, both North and South, and made sure to see and do as much as we could. If you are going to go to Thailand, you must have at least 3 weeks staying there, because of jet lag and so much other stuff you will be doing. I met some friends in Thailand, and now they are my friends and if I go back I will have more exciting times and actually have friends that live there to show me more than I missed last time. So here we go with my itinerary!

One month in Thailand itinerary

First stop: Bangkok (7 days)

We landed in Bangkok at around 12am, but got out of the airport at 230 am local time after about 24 hours of flying, so were in no mood to explore this place and it was way too early to do anything really. So we went to our Airbnb and ate some food that was from the house and went to sleep.
Having Bangkok as your first introduction is probably the best to do so you can get an experience of a lifetime and while traveling everywhere too. Once you get into the city out of the airport area, you will be overwhelmed by loud streets, smells, crazy heat with humidity and so many people. Apparently, there are 10 million people in Bangkok, so beware of the millions of people you will see, but its an awesome experience though!
Below are the things I did for the days I was there!

Things to do in Bangkok

1st day we just slept and went out to the train station because we wanted to get tickets to go to Chiang Mai, but they didn't have any tickets left :(. It was a bummer, but after that, we went and walked around. We went to a coffee shop, ate some food at the Union Mall and walked around the night market.

The next day we went and did temples! There are so many temples, but we only did a couple they are everywhere and it's great to see, but then it becomes the same thing. You can go to Wat Arun, Wat Phra Mahatat, Wat Saket, Wat Mahathat

Then after the temples, we went and ate some dinner then went to a Muay Thai Fight. You can't miss this if you go to Bangkok, it's so exciting and scary at the same time. The people that fought they had some of their teeth broken and flew into the audience, also, it was just an experience to see just in Thailand since it was made there first.
You can go to floating markets, Asiatique Night Market, China Town, Amsterdam Town, See a Ping Pong Show, Loads of souvenir shops, loads of jewelry shops and more!

Second & Third Stop: Chiang Mai & Chiang Rai (10 Days)

Chiang Mai is one of my favorites! It's not as crowded as Bangkok, but still has a lot of people just the traffic and streets are covered with millions of people every day 24/7. It's a really relaxing location since it's in the mountainous area. We tried to buy train tickets but they were sold out, so we took Airbnb for 28 bucks USD and got first class. I highly recommend VietJet! It's one of the coolest airplanes and the stewardess has the cutest outfits too! It's really cheap here as in Bangkok too! The Grab Rides are $4 USD! I highly recommend you get the grab app, its the best for all of SouthEast Asia!
A few things we did in Chiang Mai include visiting the Sunday Night Market (a MUST do if you’re there on a Sunday), hiking through the forest, you can do cooking classes (we didn't end up doing it, but its probably worth it if you don't have a lot to do on a day!), getting a traditional Thai massage and walking the streets, doing the Tiger Kingdom, Elephant Sanctuary, going to Chiang Rai for the White Temple, Floating Restaurant, fish eating your feet and hiking.

Things to do in Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai

In Chiang Rai, I saw the White Temple (which is a 3-hour road trip from Chiang Mai or you can fly, but I'd rather just not wait in lines and carry my luggage everywhere I go). Then go to the Elephant Sanctuary!

After you go back to Chiang Mai you can see the Tiger Kingdom (You can view my post about it Here) This place is actually so cool, you can choose to do all the tigers or one, we did 3 and did the baby tigers, medium sized tigers, and big sized tigers.

While you are in Chiang Mai, you can go to Central Festival Mall and see a 4D movie. They are luxury movie theaters. You get knocked around in your seat, get sprayed with water, get punched in your seat and you can smell what's happening in the movie.
Also, we went during December and for some odd reason and I didn't know this but 30% of Thailand celebrates Christ and the rest are Buddist. So there are so many Christmas things going on and smiley faces everywhere since Thailand is the place of smiles and happiness.

You can also when you go to the Bizzare Market in Chiang Mai you can put your feet in the water and fish will eat your feet!

Also, You can go see King Kong and do a Floating restaurant while you are there! It's totally worth it!

Fourth Stop Phuket, Phi Phi Island & Krabi (10 Days)

Island Hoping time! We took a flight to Phuket which was about 2 hours from Chiang Mai. We stayed at a beautiful hotel called Amatara Resort. It's soo perfect for a great relaxing time, expect its all the way down at the end of the Island of Phuket. There aren't many grab drivers so it was $45 USD for a ride from the Airport to the resort, which was 1.5 hours to drive there. I would suggest getting a car since there isn't a lot of cars there or a motorbike you can get one for $10 USD a day. We just took grab since it was easier to do either way. We just came here to relax since we have been doing so much stuff for the whole month and needed some relaxation time. You get a great view of the forest and the ocean.

We spent a lot of time in Phuket, Phi Phi Islands, and Krabi! We wanted to snorkel so we took a huge boat with 4 V8 engines and that was one the scariest rides in the world! I've never been on a speedboat before and it was insane on the ocean water with all the waves, but I survived and we snorkeled and saw Monkey Beach and more!

Fifth Stop Back to Bangkok for 3 days and Going Back Home!

Back to Bangkok

This trip we wanted to make sure we went to the Chatuchak Weekend Market so we can buy some more souvenirs! Hauling around your luggage everywhere with tons of souvenirs is difficult, yes I did buy a bunch of items from all the places we went, but I wanted more statues and other items! At the Chatuchak Weekend Market is so massive and everything you need for great bargain buys and last minute gifts too!
We stayed at an awesome hotel called State Tower which was so cool! They have a rooftop bar and lots of random food stores in it!
After 3 days we had to leave :(. I was so sad, I wanted to do so much more but didn't have enough time! Maybe next time I go, I'll stay for 3 months! Anywas, sorry for this long post, but it's totally worht it to go to Thailand for a month or more! You will love it as much as I did! Can't wait to go again!
