If you haven't been to Cancun, you will fall in love with it for many reasons. They have such rich history of the Mayan Culture and visiting all of the Mayan Ruins is one of the perks of being in Cancun. I've only been to The ruins of Tulum, but when I go back again I'll be going to Coba and Chichen Itza. I've been to Mexico three times and it's a great place to go, even if it's your first out of the country experience. I always tell people to check out Mexico for their first out of the country trip. Why? Becuase it is so easy to get to and it gets you experience to go before you go to Europe and anywhere else.
THINGS TO DO Near Cancun:
EXPLORE THE ANCIENT RUINS OF TULUM
Tulum is a beautiful city on its own, and a small city, but has so much to offer. When we went to Tulum, we paid about 5 bucks each to go to the ruins. It's super cheap too. You will have access to the secret beach which I will post below. It's called the Hidden Beach and you see incredible views of the Carribean which you will see crystal clear water.
After exploring the ruins check out the Hidden Beach.
SWIM IN A CENOTE
If you haven't been in a cenote or know what it is, here are some details: A cenote is a natural sinkhole from collapsing limestone and leaves the ground exposed and you see a big hole of awesome water. I would suggest going without a group tour since its much cheaper to go without them. I don't like doing too many tours because why waste 300 bucks when you can explore it for 20 bucks. Depending on the time you go the water can be cold or it can be warm. The time we went, it was pretty cold, so maybe go in the middle of the summer like in July to swim in warmer water. This is a must to do when you come to Mexico, they have cenotes all over if you just research the ones you want to go to.
VISIT XCARET
Xcaret is an eco-archaeological park in Cancun that has so many awesome activities. You can swim in the rivers that are there (i didn't have time to do that, but its worth it I've heard). You can go to the Butterfly Pavilion, a performance about the Mayan history which is pretty amazing, swimming with dolphins, snorkeling and more.
What to bring with you is swimsuits, shorts, tank top, flipflops and waterproof cases for your phone or GoPro.
RELAX BY THE BEACH
If you are staying at an all-inclusive resort or even an Airbnb you will be able to rest on any of the beaches. If you are looking for just leisure activities you can basically just lay around the beaches all day, they have canopies, and more. Plus, seeing the beautiful water is just an absolute dream.
Wow, so lovely travel experience that you have share here & I think this will more useful for new traveller who wants to visit Mexico. I had also a fantastic journey of Cancun travel packages in Mexico with my friends. I must say there was a great travel guide with more attractive looking location.
ReplyDeleteIt is one of the best guides I have seen, however I would add to go to visit Isla Mujeres or take a tour or be at least one night in one of the hotels in Isla Mujer, go through Puerto Morelos, travel the cenotes route , go to playa del carmen, go to tulum pff the truth is that I would have to write a full article
ReplyDeleteHola amigos, Are you visiting Cancun? I would like to tell you that the city of Cancun as such does not have a good public transportation service. That's why many tourists prefer the private transfer service and for that reason, now I'm going to leave you a list of pages that have very coquettish information about such services. Greetings and I love you.
