It's awesome that we can travel to Egypt and it is not only completely safe to travel now, but you can see all the highlights in a week!!! I know a lot of people do not want to go to the middle east but I want to tell you it's so safe and since the crowds are low TRAVEL WILL BE CHEAP!!!!

Lets talk now about the important stuff! Is Egypt safe?
YES! YES! YES! Don't let the news or anything make you believe it is not safe. You need to take advantage of this because since tourism is so low you can basically have all the highlights all by your self and no tourists will be in the background. You can see all of Egypt in a week, which is awesome!!!

You can do your own group tour or do it by yourself. I'm not a huge fan of group tours, but if you need to do it then go ahead. I like doing things on my own time and whenever I want.
Now let's get on the awesome stuff to do for a week in Egypt! This is the itinerary I used for the trip, you can change it up if you want to.

Day 0: Getting off the plane and going to the hotel to sleep

The place we stayed at first was The Four Seasons Hotel (only $80 a night what a steal), it's a 15-minute drive to the pyramids, but at least you're staying in a fancy hotel that doesn't cost $2000 a night. I love that in Egypt you can stay at fancy resorts for a reasonable price.

Yes, you will get hassled to buy and tip a lot when you are on this trip. Don't let that bother you when you to go here. It's just another experience you can say you have done. Every poor country you go to will be hassling all the time, but since Egypt is not doing so well on tourism it is a little out of control.

Day 1: Go Egyptian Museum, Great Pyramids of Giza & Ride Camels and Horses

After day 0, which was basically we came into Egypt at 130 am, so we started this adventure from 9 hours from when we came. It might be a pain, but you can sleep for 9 hours then you will be ready to wake up around 930-10am.
So we hired a driver that would take us on a tour to see the Pyramids and the Museum and set us up with the camel and horse rides. We started at the Egyptian Museum first, this place is massive and could take a week to see everything in it, but our guide just took us to the stuff that was interesting and we saw the other part of the museum which is the Mummies Museum. Now that is awesome to see actual people that have been mummified. It's kind of gross and cool at the same time. This is a separate ticket. If you have any student ID I would recommend taking it with you, because the price will be half off!! The mummy room is 100 EGY ($10 USD).
Then you go eat some lunch and we ate where the pyramids were so we can be close to walking to it. So we took a horse ride all the way to the pyramids and got into the pyramids as well. Some you have to crawl on your butt like in the photo below, but it's a cool experience. The pyramids are really empty, so there isn't much to see when you get in, just an empty room.

Day 2: Coptic Church and Hanging Church

The Coptic church and hanging church is full of history of these Orthodox churches. The churches are like roman looking churches, its cool to see!

    *Overnight Sleeper Train to Aswan*

I've never done an overnight sleeper train and thought we should do this. A lot of bloggers and YouTubers will say this is a 1st class experience and I think they are way wrong. This is not fancy at all, it's a great experience to try it though, but I wouldn't go back from Luxor to Cairo back. We didn't really sleep well on this train since its so bouncy and moves a lot. You do get dinner and breakfast, the breakfast is just 3 pieces of bread and dinner is vegetarian or chicken. It has veggies, rice, and a brownie.

Just remember to bring your toothbrush, toothpaste, water bottles and wet wipes with you!!!!

Day 3: Aswan Temples and the Nile River

After de-boarding the sleeper train, you’ll head on a boat to the pretty Movenpick Hotel. You cross the Nile since the hotel is on its own island in the middle of the Nile. Then you will drop your things off and go back across the rive to do the Aswan Temples which is the Philae Temple. In Aswan, you will see the best views of the Nile River. You just need one day to see everything in Aswan, it's a tiny city. We saw the Russian Friendship Monument because they helped the Egyptians make a huge Dam. You can see the Aswan High Dam, but it's not really any special than any other dam, but cool to see. Then you will see a Nubian Village with a market.
Nubians are a small population and darker-skinned of southern Egyptians. They are well known for being super clean, but I thought it looked exactly like any other village in Egypt. Aswan you will see a lot of crocodiles in their homes or markets, they say crocodiles are similar to God and they will protect them. I think it's strange to have a crocodile in your house, but I guess it will protect you or maybe eat you lol.

    Day 4: Exploring Aswans Markets

We had an extra day/night in Aswan, so we decided to just explore the town across the river. Its a market and you can find lots of fun goodies there.
So we went on a road trip from Aswan to Luxor, which you can do and see the temples on the way there. Or you can take a Felucca cruise which is a 2-night cruise if you have time you should do this. We didn't have enough time to do that, but you can do this!

    What’s a Felucca?

It’s an Egyptian sailboat. If you decide to take the Felucca as a cruise, you will set sail from the Movenpick Hotel. You will start out with lunch and a beautiful sunset.

Day 5: Ancient Egypt Temples en Route to Luxor

Luxor, isn't it just fun to say? Anyway, we left from Aswan at 8:30 am to start with our road trip to Luxor and see all the fun temples on the way there. On the way, you’ll stop at a couple temples, called Edfu Temple and Komombo Temple. Edfu Temple is dedicated to a bird-looking God named Horus.

Day 6: Hot Air Balloon, Valley of the Kings, and Karnack Temple

This was probably the most epic day of my entire trip… (you can check out my post here all about it). If you didn't sleep well before this it might be very exhausting. It's totally worth it even waking up so early at 4am. While you are on this, you will see the sunrise with the hot air balloon. It's sooo freaking awesome!!! I can't say any more than that!
You will get to take a tour and see the Valley of the Kings. This is the valley where the most notorious ancient Egyptian kings were buried.
King Tut’s tomb is there too. It does cost you $10USD to walk around the area.

Day 7: Relax at your hotel and visit the area you are in.

We stayed at the Marriott Hotel in Luxor and we just stayed around relaxing, eating and just exploring the area.

Day 8: Head Back to Cairo at night

You can take a road trip back to Cairo from Luxor, but it is 7 hours of driving and we decided to get an airplane ticket back since its cheap to go domestic.
Depending on what time you arrive you can just go hang around downtown or explore Cairo. We had our flight at 11pm, so we just went straight to our hotel.

Day 9 visit the Citadel and explore the city if you want.

Whatever you do on your last day, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Egypt was so amazing and I hope you all visit it in your life! You will love it!

Day 10: Leave Egypt at 145 am.

We basically just chilled in our hotel for the rest of the day and at food and relaxed before going on a 15 hour flight back home!
